US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League

The US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League provides an opportunity for the most competitive teams in Region III to play each other on a scheduled basis. The league will be comprised of boys and girls in the age groups of U-14 through U-18. Each National State Association (NSA) decides what will be the criteria for selecting teams to be considered for inclusion in the upcoming Premier League season. Typically the prior years PL champion in an age group, the state cup finalist(s) or the champion of an instate league are potential candidates. Each NSA is invited to present at least two (2) teams in each age group/gender. Games are scheduled in the fall or the spring, depending on local customs in a sub-region or state.

The region is currently divided into three (3) sub regions:

East- NC, SC, GA, FL
Central- AR, LA, TN, AL, MS
West- NTX, STX, OK

The US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League Committee is comprised of a volunteer from each member National State Associations plus the sub region coordinators and a league chairman. There are no paid positions. To a person, the sole intent is to furnish the top teams in the region the opportunity to play the most competitive schedule for as little cost as possible. The financial goal is to break even. We fully understand the cost to play this game. The more money that stays at the local club or association the better opportunities each child will have to develop their playing abilities with club coaches at club facilities.

The Division I State Cup Champion and Finalist are automatically eligible to represent Alabama in the next seasonal year’s R3PL if they meet the following requirements:

(a) The teams’ clubs remain in good standing with the PLC and AYSA;
(b) The teams retain more than 50% from their previous year’s State Cup roster on their roster
      for the next seasonal year; See PLC Rules for clarification
(c) The team is with the same club from the previous seasonal year, or with a club that is the
      product of a merger with the previous club within the previous seasonal year.
3. Division I State Cup Semi Finalists may apply to participate in SPL and R3PL and may be
     chosen by the State DOC as a nominee to fill a vacant slot in the Premier League should one become available.
